5.3 Error handling

In this chapter we will deal with error handling. We distinguish between two different types of error, namely the System Error and the Sample Error. In the following I will discuss the two errors and how the procedure for an Operator or Creator looks like.

System error

A system error affects the whole system and means that the accroma 2.0 and accrolab must be restarted.

If such a situation occurs, this is indicated by a red status indicator. In this case please contact the system administrator directly, as the accroma can be damaged by incorrect handling.

Sample error

The sample error only refers to samples and only results in a abortion of the affected sample preparation.

An example of such an error would be if a dispensed quantity is outside the specified tolerance. The affected sample preparation is then stopped and marked with a red cross. The other sample preparations can continue.

The procedure in this case would be to check the corresponding sample log to determine the cause. If only a single sample is affected, no further action is necessary. However, if several samples are affected, the cause should be investigated.

If, for example, several sample preparations were interrupted due to a dosage outside the tolerance, the following causes could be present:

  • Empty solvent bottle
  • Pump factors have to be redetermined
  • Tubing connection has come loose

If there is any uncertainty, please contact the system administrator in the first instance. If the administrator cannot solve the problem, you can contact our support team at support@accroma.com
